I have a concern about a dietitian

If you want to make a complaint about the treatment you (or a loved one) has received from a dietitian, your first option might be to discuss the matter directly with them or the relevant practice or hospital. You can also get support from the Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service who can assist you with this process.

You are also able to make a complaint directly to the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC). The HDC promotes and protects people’s rights as set out in the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights.

If you make a complaint directly to the Board, we are required to refer the information to the HDC directly.  If the HDC determines that the matter is best resolved by the Board, they may refer the matter back to us for consideration.
